Aquarians crave recognition, especially for their ideas and creativity, so your key to winning one's heart is to treat him or her like a celebrity. This means being taking them to the latest hot spots and allowing them to expand their social circle unhindered by jealousy or territorialism.

If you are going to love a "flaky" Aquarius then prepared to develop a thick skin as they are likely to throw the status quo back in your face in someway. It is often the Aquarius that seems to be flirting with a new beau when just the night before you had been told how much you were loved. As they are so free willed, intelligent and high spirited the words unconditional love definitely come to mind.

Socializing is an Aquarian's favorite thing but their second favorite thing is to sit down and have a long talk with someone they love. They are excellent one on one companions and make good therapists. They also love to talk about themselves and their long-term goals so be sure to share in his or her enthusiasm for planning the future.

As they are skilled people watchers they also love to analyze other people's relationships and usually this is all accomplished with a great sense of humor. Many Aquarians are very witty and expect you to be a sparring partner with them verbally. In this sense you could say the way to one's heart is through their ears.

Many Aquarians are also in the habit of collecting a posse of very strange and eccentric friends that you will be expected to embrace with as much enthusiasm as he or she does. Even though they are progressively minded, they do not like people who are too informal. An Aquarian will expect you to mind your manners even after you have been intimate. As they love culture, history and anthropology you can take an Aquarian anywhere. They enjoy going to the theater, art exhibits, museums and on nature hikes. They also love window shopping or driving out into the country to browse in little shops for antiques. Your education and how well read you are may also be important to Aquarian.

Aquarians also dislike people who state the obvious or who try to "hard sell" them on something. This is why in a romantic relationship it is best to be subtle with an Aquarius and court them over a period of weeks and months. They are also more interested in the courtship phase of romance rather than the actual sexual act. This is because in essence they are actually a very intellectual rather than tactile sign.

Aquarians also don't like sloppy emotional scenes. If you want to turn one off then make a sloppy confession of love. Never wear your heart on your sleeve with an Aquarian. The lack of emotional control might turn them off. Many of them are quite frightened by sudden displays of passion, which they interpret as violent.

Aquarians are very attracted to people who are impulsive and spontaneous. As they love surprises you will delight him or her by planning a trip at the last minute. Even better, plan a trip and don't tell the Aquarian where you are going. This is a good idea for a blind date.

In short they like anything unusual, anything that takes them out of a routine and anything that you can bring to them that is exotic, innovative or progressive as long as it does not cost you too much money. If you spend too much on an Aquarian they may feel that there are strings attached to the gift or have a guilty compulsion to return the favor in kind. This can make the Aquarian resent you and drop you.
